Sent in some more info, and will mail out some bottlecaps on Monday... hoping to get a yay or nay in the next couple weeks.
Squeeee!
They were following up on an email I sent them a couple months ago when they were looking for reuse/recycle crafts.
Wish me luck, it's merely 50/50 from here.

It's on blogger. All the crafters use blogger, just like all 40 year old Harry Potter fanfic writers and SCA folks use LJ.

I've always told those how have asked, that make bottlecap pincushions, fine, sell them even, have fun! Be creative by all means! But not to sell models that I sell - as a courtesy. Poinsettias, Violets, Crowns... I developed those, they are mine.
Grrr!!!
(The first link is a BAAAD ripoff, the second is my version.)
My Maiden name is Funk.
- It's basically a Blacksmith name, bascially means 'spark'.
- The German word Funk/Funke/Funken is often used in association with broadcasting (electric = sparks, get it?)
Now what is realy funny is tonight I was up researching the married name, Segrest.
First of all we know it's been bastardized, or "Mississippi'd" as we call it since the man's family is all from there, with over two centuries of illiterate deep southern influence from one of the original forms; Siegrist or Sigrist. A swiss name. His dad did quite a bit of research, has really tracked thier line back to just before 1770.
We know the Family's original Forefathers' were three brothers in the Hessian army, mercenaries, fighting with the Brits who go left when the British hightailed it. (Losers didn't get shipped home; unless your British of course.) Hessians pretty much took anyone, including Swiss, or Swiss-Germans.
- In period Switzerland was part of the German Kingdom. Doesn't become it's own land for sometime.
- Sigrist (Siegrist appears to be the more Southern German spelling) is a occupational name that first appeared starting about 1261 (Germany didn't do surnames at all until after 1100)
- Sigrist/Siegrist was a phonetic German (lang) adapataiton of the Medieval Latin word Sacrista. The English developed the same word into Sexton or Saxton. The German Female form is Sigristin.
- A Sacrista was a paid laymen's post with in the church - it was their job to maintain and manage all the church vestments and treasures, building, ring the bell, prepare for the masses, etc. Bascially, they were the priest's personal assistants.
Church vestments. It's where (almost all) the beadwork is.
So now the SCA name that I keep toying with the idea changing and 'Germifying' is back in my brain. I would really love to change it. 15 years thought is a long time to wait finally do it especially when you're as well known in some circles as I am.
The current contenders are: and I'm keeping Grizel as a nickname, I wouldn't use the purer german form on anything other than offical stuff.
- Griselde der Siegristin
- Griseldis von Eger
- Griselde Egerer

Thought I'd share this one! I got the trim from Calontir Trim at Crown a few weeks ago, and just now got it out of the car. I was sick to death of making fall tree pincushions, since I've sold three in a row so I used this as a break between them.
very pleased with it. Someone commented that it looked German, and I think I agree with that. I might just make myself one to keep.
